If you are ready to part with a large quantity of books, we may be able to help. We buy books that we can resell and we pay a fair price for them, too, based on their scarcity, desirability, market value, condition, and our current stock. We are especially interested in out-of-print, hardcover first editions of merit published before 1970. As Chicago dealers, it is easier for us to view collections in the Midwest; but we may be willing to travel to other locations in the United States for certain larger collections.
Books we do not buy include:
- books in poor condition
- reference books such as dictionaries and encyclopedias
- textbooks and technical manuals
- bibles or religious books
- inspirational and self-help books
- book club editions
- Readers’ Digest Condensed Books
- paperback books
- ex-library books
